JAR – the Danish national register of soil pollution – contains information about sites that are either potentially polluted, polluted or have been cleaned up.
JAR facilitates registration, administration and processing of sites with Danish Regions. The general public is also able to look up sites to see their soil pollution status, by means of special user interfaces.
On behalf of JAR Samarbejdet (a cooperation between Danish Regions), COWI is responsible for maintaining, enhancing and supporting JAR, and COWI also supports each region's JAR operations and hosts JAR for one of the regions.
COWI's team supports the system, and the JAR environments are operated in COWI's hosting centre, which meets strict requirements for uptime, security and backup processes.
