Danfoss aims to reduce energy consumption in its factories around the world. As part of this, the company has entered into close collaboration with COWI to make energy savings.
Heat pumps and production of central heating from surplus heat have been a particular focus of the collaboration, as Danfoss’ factories typically have a high demand for heat and large quantities of surplus heat.
A concrete example of this collaboration is a heat recovery project at Danfoss in Nordborg, where co-production of cooling water and central heating from four large heat pumps bring an annual saving of DKK 3.4 million. The project reduces annual gas consumption by 1.2 million m³ and CO₂ emissions by 2,700 tonnes.
